Appeared in many serious and complex cases in a wide variety of tribunals as both leader and junior.

Graduated from University in London in 1990 before going to the Inns of Court School of law to complete Bar Finals, being called to the Bar in 1992.

He worked for a year for Bindman and Partners Solicitors gaining a comprehensive grounding in the work undertaken by solicitors in all types of public law, but mainly in their criminal department.

Completed pupillage at Bell Yard Chambers and Lamb Building in 1994.

Since that time, he has developed a substantial Criminal Defence and Public Law practise.

AREAS OF PRACTISE

Paul’s area of expertise is in Criminal Defence, specifically cases involving serious offences of violence, firearms, and drug offences. He has also developed a particular following in cases involving allegations of football violence.

He also undertakes Coroner’s court work representing interested parties from insurance companies in Road Traffic cases to families in Death in Custody Matters.

Paul also has an interest in Road Traffic regulatory work and has advised in cases involving VOSA and licensing for HGV’s.

R-v-SO Multihanded conspiracy to cause violent disorder between football “firms” before matches

R-v-M Murder of a Polish Chef by West London Gang Members, eventually dealt with as manslaughter

R-v-JH Murder of Transsexual Prostitute who was allegedly blackmailing high profile clients.

R-v-JA Large scale conspiracy to import cocaine into the UK via a parcel delivery company, represented the head of the conspiracy on what was initially alleged to be 34Kg of cocaine.

R-v-QH Widespread conspiracy to cultivate cannabis in the West Midlands over 10 properties.

R-v- PC Fraud involving Trading Standards prosecution against a travelling family allegedly taking payment for work inadequately done.

R-v-C and others, Two trials involving the first effective prosecution under Slavery legislation in the jurisdiction.

R-v-TJ  Importation through the Channel Tunnel from Belgium of 20Kg of heroin from Belgium.

R-v-TS  (Court of Appeal) Breaches of Immigration law and sham marriage allegations against a solicitor.
