PRACTICE
Specialist criminal defence practitioner who is regularly instructed in a variety of cases including serious violence, gross negligence manslaughter, firearms offences, sexual offences, neglect, blackmail, fraud, drugs and money laundering.
She has been led in a number of high profile cases including (R v Marcus Ellis and others), a trial concerning the drive by shooting at a New Year eve party in the City of Birmingham. This case is the leading authority on witness anonymity. Also experienced in cases where causation is in issue in particular where gross negligence manslaughter is alleged within the medical profession (R v Hajinder Mangot). Experienced in dealing with difficult and vulnerable clients and the cross examination of children.

R v Jason DAgular and others Birmingham Crown Court Successful defence of a young man accused of a single punch manslaughter during a pub fight. Issues of causation fully investigated. R v Hajinder Mangot and another - Wolverhampton Crown Court Nurse charged with Gross Negligence Manslaughter for allegedly failing to respond to a patient having a epileptic fit. The standard of care expected of competent nurse investigated and causation... Conviction successfully appealed. R v Govinder Naicker - Wood Green Crown Court Successful defence of a male primary school teacher accused of sexual assault on three pupils. R v Jonathan Reeves Chichester Crown Court Large scale drug importation and supply of class A drugs in Sussex and Essex R v Emma Riley and another Chichester Crown Court Defendant a young mother accused of neglect (failing to provide medical care) after her partner caused a serious skull fracture to a five-month-old baby. Sentence successfully reduced upon appeal. R v Sutherland - Birmingham Crown Court Successful defence of a Church Minster charged with a serious sexual assault of a young girl in congregation. R v Jermaine Lewis - Central Criminal Court Successful defence of a man charged with a gunpoint rape R v Hyfa Ali and others Kingston Crown Court Large scale mortgage and benefit fraud R v Edwards and others Defence of a railway employee charged with a large-scale fraud involving computers and ticketing machines.
