BACKGROUND
Before starting pupillage in 2007, I had a career in legal publishing first as a law reporter in the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division), and then as assistant editor at Criminal Law Week. Also employed for a short period in the fraud and regulatory department at Peters and Peters Solicitors.
PRACTICE
Criminal defence practice with experience of a wide range of offences (both mainstream criminal law and of a regulatory nature) and of cash forfeiture and extradition proceedings.
RECENT CASES
R v AE (Harrow CC)
Successful appeal against conviction following submissions under the CJA 2003, s.125 (hearsay evidence unconvincing).
R v DL (Bolton CC)
Negotiated plea in case of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representations and money laundering.
R v ND (Uxbridge MC)
Successful abuse of process argument in identification case where CCTV from which police officer purported to make identification was destroyed.
R v JW (Staines YC)
Defence of vulnerable 12-year-old charged with sexual assault on child under 13.

Currently instructed in contested cases on indictment of burglary, witness intimidation, assault and robbery.
