We were one of the first sets of chambers to be awarded the prestigious Quality Mark, the Bar’s independent ‘kitemark’ for excellence and good practice management.
We are the first set of criminal chambers to offer in-house video conferencing facilities linking chambers to 57 major prisons and we continue to develop our services utilising the latest state-of-the-art technology.
Our members are in demand in high profile cases in London and throughout the UK. We appear in courts and tribunals in Scotland, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Bermuda, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands.
Working with the British Armed Forces provides a further international dimension. Our advocates have defended and prosecuted in Courts Martial as far afield as Cyprus, Belize and Germany.
Our membership boasts current and former Members of Parliament, Crown Court Recorders and three Benchers of Gray’s Inn. We are proud of our tradition of service upon the Bar Council, Criminal Bar Association and on other professional committees. We include among our number a former Chairman of the Criminal Bar Association, as well as committee members for the Bar Council and C.B.A.
The advocacy services we provide are held in high regard and our members include trained advocacy teachers. Chambers provides specialist lectures for solicitors. These lectures are presented in-house, but if more suitable, they can also be arranged at a client's location. Our members also contribute to current affairs programmes on television and radio.
Members of chambers have often acted pro bono and we are committed to providing effective representation to all, regardless of means or background. Within our chambers are members of Liberty, Justice and Amnesty International.
We are proud of our ethnic and cultural diversity. Our members have come to the Bar from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life. Some members of chambers are fluent in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Greek and Twi.
We have a strong team of lawyers at every level of call and offer representation at Magistrates Courts around London and the Home Counties.
The work of chambers is underpinned by modern, approachable and professional Clerks led by our Senior Clerk, Marc King. His team is proud to offer modern clerking supported by the latest facilities and technology. Our Clerks can also be contacted outside normal working hours and provide a regular weekend and Bank Holiday court service. |
